Veterinary Assistant

Ashley

Since the age of 9, Ashley has been actively involved with purebred dogs through the Canadian Kennel Club conformation shows, obedience, grooming, and her own breeding program. Ashley has handled and shown numerous dogs of all different breeds while competing all over North America. Ashley competed heavily as a junior handler for 9 years where she ranked as a top junior across Canada. She obtained the title of Top Junior Handler in Canada and represented Canada at the World Dog Show in Birmingham, England, where she made it to the final 12.

Ashley started her career in the veterinary field in 2009 when she took her high school co-op placement in a veterinary clinic and since worked in several clinics. She joined our team in Spring of 2024, after years at our sister clinic in Huntsville.

As someone who has dedicated her life to working with animals, working in a veterinary clinic provides Ashley with many different challenges on a daily basis such as ongoing patient care as well as managing different behavioural issues. Seeing patients come into the hospital with various ailments and leaving in better health is extremely fulfilling and rewarding to her.

Ashley shares her home with her Norwegian Buhunds, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, Anatolian Shepherd, and 3 cats. In Ashley’s spare time you will find her working with her dogs, hiking, and gardening.
