Dr. Melanie Sigetich

Education: Ontario Veterinary College

Dr. Melanie was born in Barrie and was raised in Markham Ontario. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1998. After graduation, she and three classmates spent two months on safari in Eastern Africa. She then practiced for 7 years at a busy small animal and exotics veterinary hospital in Oakville.

Pursuing her interest in exotic and wildlife medicine, Dr. Melanie attended to the veterinary needs of animals at Toronto’s High Park Zoo. In 2001 she appeared as a guest speaker on CTV’s Canada AM to discuss exotic animal pet care.

Dr. Melanie cottaged in the Muskoka region through her childhood and early career, moving to the area in 2005 to join the team at Bracebridge Animal Hospital.

Dr. Melanie shares her home with her loving husband, son, daughter, and two adorable cats; “Vadar” and “Elsa”. Her active family enjoys spending time together enjoying all Muskoka has to offer; hiking, kayaking, cottaging, and lots of hockey.
